Kristin Davis is an actress famous for her role as Charlotte York in the series "Sex and the City". She was born February 24th, 1965 in Boulder Colorado. Her parents divorced while she was still an infant and her mother remarried to a professor. Davis's stepfather adopted her and the family moved to South Carolina. She has three half sisters from this family.

After graduating high school, Davis went to Rutgers University in New Jersey and got her bachelor's degree in 1987. She then moved to New York City and worked as a waitress and also opened a yoga studio with one of her friends. During this time, Davis attended auditions and had her break in 1995 with a role on the TV series "Melrose Place". She also was in shows such as "Friends", "Will and Grace" and "Seinfeld".

In 1998, Davis got the role which would define her career. She was cast as Charlotte York, a slightly neurotic woman who craves a baby, in the HBO series "Sex and the City". The show was incredibly successful up until its end in 2004. Kristin Davis was nominate for an Emmy award during the final season. After "Sex and the City", Davis was in several less-successful TV shows. She returned to her role as Charlotte York for the 2008 film version of the show. After the film's release, a large department store chain, Belk, announced its partnership with Kristin Davis which included lines of women's clothing and accessories.

Though Kristin Davis does not have problems with drugs or alcohol now, she was an alcoholic up until her mid 20s and speaks openly about her past addiction. Davis is not married and her romantic life is kept private.
